At AN EXTRA HAND HOME CARE, our home care services can give you the support that you need when day-to-day living becomes too difficult due to an advanced age, disability, or chronic illness.

For some people, this help might be for a short time while recovering from injury or illness. For others, home care may be needed on a long-term basis. Either way, our compassionate and friendly team is here to make things easier for you to continue living at home. Whether you are just looking for companionship, assistance with activities of daily living, or if you need hospice care, we are here for you.

AN EXTRA HAND HOME CARE services are available to private citizens and a wide range of agencies, institutions, corporations, groups, and all-level government agencies. We extend our services to new clients and look forward to a partnership with them in the future.

Services Offered
Our services can help you get the care and support that you need to maintain your dignity and independence at home. Our services include:

Respite Care
Through our respite care services, we offer short-term relief for primary caregivers in need of a break from their caregiving duties while having peace of mind that their loved ones are taken care of.
Companionship
To avoid loneliness and social isolation, we offer friendly companionship for homebound individuals. This includes socialization, personal care, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and supervision.
Homemaking
We offer assistance with light housework, including vacuuming, dusting, washing laundry, changing beds, meal planning and preparation, pet care, and more.
Personal Care
We offer compassionate and respectful assistance with personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and more.
Hospice Care
We offer support to terminally ill patients and their families. Hospice care is not curative, rather, our goal is to make the patient comfortable and support the family through this difficult time.
Monitoring Services
Through our monitoring services, we check on the safety and welfare of our clients by contacting them by phone. We can also conduct regular home visit(s).

We also offer other services, including:

Non-Medical Transportation
We understand the urgency and eagerness of waiting to be discharged from a facility. We provide Non-Medical Transportation/Concierge Service to our clients, providing the most comfortable transition to the client’s own home.

Services include:

      • ◊  Pick the client up from the facility (Hospital or Rehab)
      • ◊  Take the client to get prescriptions filled
      • ◊  Pick up from the airport
      • ◊  Grocery shopping
      • ◊  Empty refrigerator of old food and stock with new/fresh groceries
      • ◊  The nurse will come to the client’s home and look over medication
      • ◊  Organize medications for 1 week post discharge from facility

 

Client’s Requirements

  • ο  Patient must be able to be transported by private vehicle.
  • ο  Must have necessary assistive devices upon arrival to home
  • ο  Must have pill organizer available when the nurse arrives at home
  • ο  Must give 24 to 48-hour notice prior to discharge

 

Service Costs
We provide a variable rate based on the type of service needed, when it is provided, and where it is delivered. Please take note that we don’t charge anything for “non-medical” assessments but there may be charges for “nursing” assessments. In some cases, mileage fees (current IRS rates) are applicable. Prior to service arrangements, we will discuss care plan costs with you and your family to ensure that services are within your budget. Services are available from a few hours a day to 24 hours a day and holidays to accommodate our clients’ needs and preferences.
